Queensland’s Yeerongpilly station is officially set to reopen on Monday, February 17 after an extensive revamp.
The station has been rebuilt as part of Cross River Rail’s rolling station upgrades program, with the aim of boosting accessibility for customers and enhancing connections to Fairfield Road.
Passengers can look forward to new station buildings with a ticket office and accessible public toilets.
There will also be an upgraded Wilkie Street station entry boasting shade canopies, seating, a drinking fountain and accessible entry and footpaths.
New raised platforms have been installed, including an additional (third) platform on the Wilkie Street side of the station, and new canopies on the station platforms will offer increased protection from the weather.
An additional platform access point can be found opposite Stamford Street.
Plus there’s new accessible car parking and kiss ‘n’ ride bays on Wilkie Street, and a new secure bicycle storage facility.
A statement fro Cross River Rail said: “On Monday 17 February 2025, Queensland Rail and Translink in collaboration with UNITY Alliance will reopen Yeerongpilly station to train services.
“The station will be fully accessible, providing a better transport experience for all customers.
“Thank you for your ongoing patience during the accessibility rebuild of Yeerongpilly station.”
