With the world in the grip of a high speed rail ‘revolution’, tomorrow’s presentation, ‘The future of high speed rail – the European experience’, will be a highlight of the day’s program. This presentation will be given by David Daly, Ambassador of the European Commission Delegation, Australia.

Afternoon Technical Streams to be held over the next two days will cover 12 topics that are vital to the industry, with more than 50 presentations providing the most up-to-date and in-depth material on specific areas of technical expertise.
The CRC for Rail Innovation is currently conducting the single biggest research program in the history of our railways, and on Wednesday CRC members will provide insight into a number of exciting research projects. ‘Time for High Speed Rail’ will detail the kind of research that is informing Australia’s current high speed debate and will be given by CRC’s Brett Hughes and Dr Michael Charles.
Thursday opens with the Australasian Railway Association Members Convention where a number of key players in rail will address crucial industry issues including the Sydney freight corridor, level crossing safety, the importance of ‘zero harm’ and raising project capital.
