<p>An Auditor-General’s report on Perth New MetroRail city section project had endorsed the Western Australian Government’s management of the project, state infrastructure minister Alannah MacTiernan said.</p> <p>"The Auditor-General’s key finding is a vote of confidence in the way that the state government is managing one of the biggest infrastructure projects Western Australia has ever seen," Ms MacTiernan said.</p> <p>The government also welcomed the finding that responsibility and cost risk for the design and construction contract rested with contractor Leighton-Kumagai, she said.</p> <p>The Auditor General found the Public Transport Authority was capably managing the contracts in terms of personnel appointment, appropriate systems, monitoring, relationships and claims management, Ms MacTiernan said.</p> <p>Timetable and costs issues that the Auditor-General had identified were being "closely monitored" by the authority’s team, the government said.</p> <br />
