VTA to hold seminar on fuel tax credits

<p>Important changes are about to occur to the way in which transport operators can apply for fuel tax credits. </p> <p>The existing Energy Grants Credits Scheme (EGCS) will cease on June 30 and the new arrangements will commence the following day.</p> <p>The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) has organised a special workshop to be held from 1.00pm to 3.30pm on Thursday, June 8, in Albert Park. </p> <p>Experts from the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the Department of Transport &#38 Regional Services (DoTaRS) will address this workshop.</p> <p>A key issue to be addressed at the workshop will be the removal of the metropolitan boundaries and what this means for claiming fuel tax credits for vehicles of 4.5 tonnes and above engaged in urban transport. </p> <p>It will also look at how to claim through the tax system and explain some of the issues arising from the new emissions performance criteria, especially as they apply to older trucks.</p> <p>For further details, contact Suzie Bosman at the VTA on 03 9646 8590.</p> <br />
