<p>The Victorian Transport Association advises that places for a free workshop on the Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) regime are filling up fast.</p> <p>The free workshop is scheduled for next Tuesday (June 27) from 1400 hrs to 1630 hrs at the Albert by the Lake Restaurant (in Bob Jane Stadium). Aughtie Drive, Albert Park.</p> <p>Everyone who needs to work unmonitored or unescorted in a maritime security zone – which includes many port terminal operations – will require MSICs. This includes truck and train drivers.</p> <p>The Federal Office of Transport Security will discuss the MSIC legal regime, and the authorised issuing bodies in Victoria – 1-Stop Connections and the Port of Melbourne Corporation – will talk about the practical application process.</p> <p>Issues to be covered will include:</p> <p>• What is an MSIC, who needs it and by when? </p> <p>• The need to apply now in preparation for implementation</p> <p>• Who must pay?
