Victorian passenger services get new managers

<p>Victorian transport minister Peter Batchelor has appointed three managing directors to run the state’s M>Train, M>Tram and V&#47Line passenger services.</p> <p>Alan Chaplin will run M>Train, Bernie Carolan M>Tram and Andrew Neal will take on V&#47Line.</p> <p>Their key priorities will be continuous improvement of customer service, safe reliable and punctual services and delivery of the state government’s public transport projects, Mr Batchelor said.</p> <p>The passenger services have been run through government receivers KPMG, since the withdrawal of their former operators National Express Group in December last year.</p> <p>"While KPMG will continue to manage the businesses on behalf of the state, we now have three very experienced transport professionals driving the operations," Mr Batchelor said.</p> <p>The state has now established a new body, Victorian Rail Services, to employ the staff working across all three franchises.</p> <br />
