Victoria hails response to transport legislation review

<p>More than 1,200 people representing more than 140 organisations have participated in the State Government’s review of laws governing Victoria’s transport system, the state’s public transport minister Lynne Kosky and roads and ports minister Tim Pallas said on Friday (February 1). </p> <p>The ministers said the Government had received 77 public submissions to the Transport Legislation Review discussion paper have which will be used as part of the next step in the review. </p> <p>Many more people had participated in workshops, forums and briefings on the proposed objectives for the legislation.</p> <p>The Transport Legislation Review was aimed at updating the Transport Act 1983, as outlined in the <em>Meeting Our Transport Challenges</em> plan.</p> <p>The review aimed to develop improved objectives for transport decision making by government agencies in the future and also improving integration between transport and land use planning.</p> <br />
