<p>Bids are in for the Victorian Regional Fast Rail country works and contracts are expected to be awarded shortly.</p> <p>Tenders have been submitted for the track, civil, signal and train control works for each of the Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and Latrobe Valley corridor works.</p> <p>The tenders will be assessed by the Rail Projects Group according to criteria including project capability, proposed travel times, management of specific construction issues, overall cost and delivery timing.</p> <p>Tendering of the metropolitan works should occur later this year and all work is scheduled for completion by mid-2005.</p> <br />
