As Melbourne braces for a population of nine million by 2050, the demand for smarter, greener, and more connected urban mobility has never been greater.

Urban Rail 2025 – happening 25–26 June at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne – is set to lead the conversation on how Australia’s rail industry is adapting to meet this seismic shift.

Presented by Informa Connect, Urban Rail 2025 will unite leaders from government, operators, and the private sector to explore how flagship projects like the Suburban Rail Loop, Metro Tunnel, and more are redefining passenger experience. With a focus on interoperability, customer-centric innovation, and sustainability, the event offers powerful insight into the role rail plays in shaping liveable, low-emission cities.

This year’s program is packed with thought-provoking keynotes, deep-dive case studies, and technical panels featuring industry luminaries such as Michael Hopkins (NTC), Frankie Carroll (Suburban Rail Loop Authority), and A/g Assistant Secretary Sophie Bazzana, (Cyber and Infrastructure Security Group, Department of Home Affairs), International perspectives, including from renewable rail champion Leo Murray, add global context to the local momentum.

Beyond the main stage, attendees can participate in the High Capacity Signalling Workshop (24 June), celebrate excellence at the Urban Rail Conference Dinner, and network through ConnectMe + Streamly digital tools. Initiatives like Next Generation Conference Scholarships and Acceleration Allies reinforce the industry’s commitment to emerging talent and gender equity.

With new infrastructure driving transformation and customer expectations evolving, Urban Rail 2025 is the must-attend event for stakeholders shaping the future of passenger rail. Don’t miss your seat at the table—download the brochure and register today to be part of Australia’s urban rail evolution.
