<p>The main western rail line into Sydney was blocked for several hours last night (Wednesday, February 6) after a passenger train struck an unattended dump truck.</p> <p>Police are investigating how the 10-tonne truck – full of sand – rolled down an embankment onto tracks near Blackheath, in the Blue Mountains, about 60 km from Sydney’s western suburbs about 4.40pm.</p> <p>It was hit by a westbound passenger train at low speed shortly afterwards.</p> <p>None of the 200 people on the train were injured.</p> <p>The blocked track caused peak-hour delays to thousands of commuters.</p> <p>The line was cleared of debris after several hours and police were interviewing the truck driver about the freak accident. </p> <br />
