<p>The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is seeking comment from stakeholders involved in the container supply chain at Port Botany.</p> <p>IPART is assisting the New South Wales Government with a review of the interface between the land transport industries and the stevedores at Port Botany, under Section 9 of the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal Act 1992.</p> <p>The tribunal will examine charges and access arrangements relating to the road vehicle booking system, rail access arrangements and other services provided by the stevedores, and will make recommendations on how the efficiency of the landside logistics chain could be improved.</p> <p>As part of the review, the tribunal has released an issues paper and invites submissions from stakeholders and the public. </p> <p>NSW ports minister Joe Tripodi today (Wednesday, May 9) welcomed the development.</p> <p>Mr Tripodi said industry comments could relate to operator methods, hours of operation or any other issues that can build on the strengths of Port Botany.</p> <p>“Fairness and efficiency at Port Botany are important issues for the transport sector, the stevedores and the economy of NSW,” he said.</p> <p>“It is important industry make submissions to the Independent Tribunal to ensure their views are thoroughly considered.” </p> <p>Submissions should be made by June 8.</p> <p>Send submissions to <a href="mailto:portbotany@ipart.nsw.gov.au">portbotany@ipart.nsw.gov.au</a></p> <p>The Issues Paper is available at <a href="http://www.ipart.nsw.gov.au" target="_info">www.ipart.nsw.gov.au</a>. </p> <br />
