<p>Tranz Rail has reported a net profit of NZ$2.8m for the latest quarter and a cumulative net profit of $46.1m for the nine months ended March 31.</p> <p>The operator’s shift of focus on to its freight business has cost more and taken longer than expected.</p> <p>While overall freight revenue decreased during the period, mainly because of less forestry business, the intermodal division performed well with containerised freight revenue growing by 8%.</p> <p>Tranz Rail is also gearing up to capture forecast growth in coal volumes.</p> <br />
