<p>Tranz Rail has appointed Wayne Walden as its new chairman.</p> <p>Mr Walden is a New Zealand-based director and he has been joined on the board by fellow New Zealander Roger Armstrong.</p> <p>Tranz Rail is now 70% owned by New Zealand investors and the new board reflects that change.</p> <p>Mr Walden replaces Robert Wheeler who is retiring. Three other board members – Francis Small, Thomas Power and Kenneth Bowell – have also decided to step down.</p> <p>Jon Cimino joined the board last month.</p> <br />
