The Chairs of the National Transport Commission (NTC) and the Public Transport Association Australia (PTAANZ) have signed a formal partnership agreement in Sydney.
The partnership will form the basis of a strategic relationship between both parties so they can align activities of mutual interest, collaborate and exchange information to contribute to their work to improve Australia’s land transport system.
Both organisations hope their partnership will speed up progress on mutually important issues.
PTAANZ Chair Sally Stannard said the partnership would support the association in delivering its mission.
“By partnering with the National Transport Commission, PTAANZ is strengthening its ability to champion the future of sustainable mobility in this region by contributing our members’ expertise and insights to the national land transport reform agenda,” she said.
NTC Chair Carolyn Walsh said the partnership would increase the impact made by both organisations on the national land transport reform agenda.
“The NTC PTAANZ partnership will amplify both our organisations’ efforts to achieve more sustainable, efficient, and safer transport systems in Australia,” she said.
The PTAANZ is the premier peak body for all modes of public transport and sustainable mobility solutions in Australia and New Zealand.
It brings together over 70 public and private member organisations, including transport authorities, operators, suppliers, manufacturers and research institutes from Australia and New Zealand. PTAANZ forges alliances with like-minded local and international organisations who share a common vision to promote public transport and sustainable cities.
