Tram named after the man who saved fleet

<p>The first of M>Tram’s new fleet was officially named last week after Melbourne tramways identity Sir Robert Risson.</p> <p>Sir Risson was chairman of the Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board between 1949 and 1970 and was instrumental in retaining trams in the city.</p> <p>M>Tram has invested over $195m in 59 new Siemans trams.</p> <p>The new vehicle is now being tested and will begin service later this year.</p> <br />
