With the festive season just around the corner, the TrackSAFE Foundation will be holding a webinar on alcohol awareness, led by Dr Trent Watson.
The Foundation, established by the Australasian Railway Association and UGL in 2012, is Australia’s only harm prevention charity focused on reducing deaths, injuries and near hits on the rail network. TrackSAFE also works to improve the wellbeing of rail employees.
Foundation communications manager Hope Steele said it was no secret that alcohol can have a negative effect on mental and physical health.
“We often drink because we want to change the way we feel. This workshop not only aims to equip participants with the knowledge to identify hazardous drinking, it’s effect on our body and mind; but to empower participants to make healthier choices regarding alcohol,” she said.
Learning objectives
1. Recognise hazardous alcohol intake
2. Understand the negative behavioural, health and social outcomes of hazardous alcohol intake
3. Find your reason why you may need to moderate drinking
4. Role modelling for friends and family
