TrackSAFE is keen to understand the journeys that organisations take towards best practice in trauma management, including strengths and gaps, and invites Australian and New Zealand rail industry representatives to participate in the 2023 TrackSAFE Foundation Framework Implementation Survey.
The survey aims to help understand what rail organisations are already doing well regarding trauma management activities and resources; and what organisations would find helpful to assist with further implementation of the framework.
To help, TrackSAFE Foundation’s newly released Trauma Management Framework, a guide to best-practice trauma management for organisations working in rail, is now available for download.
The document provides a best practice approach to managing trauma in the rail industry and thereby minimising the risk of adverse mental health outcomes.
It serves as a platform for developing standards, specifications and associated guidelines and resource materials which rail organisations can embed into their own systems.
It can also be used to guide the development of practical trauma policy, procedures and training for managers and supervisors, first responders to incidents and rail employees at highest risk of exposure to potentially traumatic events.
The information gathered through this survey will be used to guide and prioritise next steps for TrackSAFE Foundation’s implementation activities, including the development of toolkit resources to support effective trauma management.
The survey will remain open to Friday, July 14.
