<p>Toll Holdings’s vehicle distribution business was inferior to Patrick Corp’s, it emerged yesterday (Wednesday, July 12).</p> <p>Toll said it expected to divest its own vehicle distribution business before next February, in line with its undertakings to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission over its takeover of Patrick.</p> <p>Toll managing director Paul Little said: “This was obviously a very difficult decision for the company. </p> <p>"At this early stage, in confirming the sale of the Toll vehicle distribution business, our main concerns are for our loyal employees, contractors and customers.”</p> <p>Stressing that it had nothing to do with Patrick being a better business, he told th <em>e Australian</em> : "Strategically, the Patrick business was far stronger in the service called PDI (pre-delivery and inspection services)." </p> <br />
