<p>Toll Holdings achieved full control of Patrick yesterday afternoon, a day ahead of the close of Toll’s offer tonight (Thursday, May 25). </p> <p>The company had 90.76% of Patrick’s ordinary shares at 5.35pm yesterday, moving to compulsory acquisition of the rest. </p> <p>Toll is currently interviewing Patrick staff and gathering information on the company and its operations. </p> <p>Sources have suggested that June 15 will be a major date in the new structure of the merged companies, which sees the highly-centralised Patrick organisation merge with the more decentralised Toll.</p> <p>All of the key container terminal general managers are expected to stay.</p> <p>Earlier this week, the head of Patrick’s ports business, Maurice James, announced that he would leave the company for personal reasons.</p> <p>He said, however, that Patrick’s near-$500m capital expansion program to automate the Brisbane and Sydney terminals and revamp Melbourne was now well-advanced. </p> <br />
