Toll in Broome energy supply base joint venture with Mermaid Marine

<p>Toll has moved to bolster its energy services arm, linking with Fremantle’s Mermaid Marine Australia to service supply bases in Broome.</p> <p>The joint venture, Toll Mermaid Logistics &#8211 Broome, will focus on the Browse Basin oil and gas region.</p> <p>"The joint venture recognises the strengths of both companies and will provide our clients with world class services to support their current and emerging requirements in the Browse Basin region," Mermaid managing director Jeff Weber said yesterday (Thursday, November 2).</p> <p>"Work has already commenced storing drilling casing for our clients and lease agreements are being completed with the Broome Port Authority which will put the new company in an ideal position to service the expected future growth in activity.</p> <p>"Contracts covering integrated supply base services are being finalised and commencement of new drilling campaigns is expected within the next month.&#8221 </p> <p>The operation will be managed by Broome industry veteran Brian Philp.</p> <br />
