Based on the concept of the mind-boggling parade of shiny equipment at VDEI at Mnster in Germany (the largest in the world), the RTAA / RailCorp Field Day aims to attract an exhibition of track machinery from RailCorp’s own infrastructure collection, together with technology from manufacturers and track maintenance and construction contractors presenting the latest machinery in Australia.
The Field Days Event provides a unique opportunity for rail experts and enthusiasts from top level management to technicians, trade/maintenance/construction workers, engineers, students and others within the rail industry to experience ‘hands-on’ what’s on offer in Australia. In 2010 there is the added opportunity to attend workshops and technical sessions on site as well a greater variety of working displays.
Over 2,000 visitors were attracted in 2007. This number is expected to increase substantially with wider advertising and with many repeat exhibitors eager to take advantage of the reasonable display rates. It is also hoped that students and enthusiasts of rail engineering and technology from numerous tertiary institutions will come to the event.
The display area is centred around the yard’s five storage sidings, 250 metres in length of which two have been surfaced in asphalt, located within a fenced and secured area. Track display areas are invited from the major track contractors, manufacturers and suppliers to the rail industry.
Exhibition space is also provided for other participants in the rail industry representing track owners, operators, manufacturers, contractors, consultants, regulators and suppliers within large marquees or outdoors in smaller tents. The Field Days provide an excellent opportunity to showcase new and interesting products and services to the rail industry as well as to demonstrate the latest technology to younger technicians, trade’s people and graduate engineers newly entering the rail industry.
As well as exhibitors, on offer are a variety of sponsorship prospects covering food, non-alcoholic beverages, show bags, etc as well as technical workshop sponsorship.
Sponsors can enjoy the privilege of Gold, Silver and Bronze Sponsorship.
Members of the RTAA will enjoy a substantial reduction in exhibition costs and the RTAA will be launching its inaugural RTAA No-Tie Dinner, to be held on the evening of 3 March. Sponsorship opportunities are invited for the dinner.
