Police Transport Command officers have arrested a 29-year-old man accused of indecent assault onboard a Sydney train on August 2.
NSW Police said Police Transport Command had made the arrest on Thursday evening at Central Station.
Officers were alerted to an incident which took place around 6.45pm on a city-bound train from Hurstville.
It is alleged the man approached a 28-year-old woman, who was not known to him, and indecently assaulted her.
Other passengers reportedly assisted the woman, who suffered bruising to her head and arms.
When the man was arrested at Central, police say they found methylamphetamine on his person.
He was taken to Day Street Police Station, and charged by detectives from Sydney City Police Area Command with inflict actual bodily harm with intent to have sexual intercourse, and possess prohibited drug.
The man was refused bail, and scheduled to appear in Central Local Court on August 3.
