Sydney light rail stop names approved

The Geographical Names Board has officially approved the final 17 Sydney light rail stop names, with each named after major landmarks or geographical locations.

Last year, the NSW government submitted the 17 stop names to the board, which undertook community consultation. The names were reportedly chosen to enable commuters to easily recognise the destinations.

The official light rail stop names are:

  • Circular Quay
  • Bridge Street
  • Wynyard
  • QVB
  • Town Hall
  • Chinatown
  • Haymarket
  • Central Chalmers Street
  • Surry Hills
  • Moore Park
  • Royal Randwick
  • Wansey Road
  • UNSW High Street
  • Randwick
  • ES Marks
  • Kensington
  • UNSW Anzac Parade
  • Kingsford
  • Nine Ways
