<p>Work on the $700m redevelopment of Melbourne’s Spencer Street Station officially started last Thursday (October 3).</p> <p>It will include a retail plaza and three office and residential apartments.</p> <p>The new development – to be called Southern Cross Station – will provide an upgraded interchange between the suburban and country rail networks, and integrate bus, tram and taxi services.</p> <p>Leighton Contructors will build the new station for the Civic Nexus consortium.</p> <br />
