<p>Western Australian operator South Spur Rail Services has won a contract to freight 1.5m tonnes of iron ore a year.</p> <p>The contract for Mount Gibson Iron will involve moving the iron ore from Tallering Peak to Geraldton Port, a distance of 107km.</p> <p>The operator will purchase 42 new 50 tonne rail wagons for the project.</p> <p>Shipments from Geraldton are expected to commence in the third quarter of this year. </p> <br />
