Small rail spend in SA budget

<span class="" id="parent-fieldname-description"> There was very little funding for rail in South Australia’s budget handed down last week which delivered a deficit of $479m – a deterioration on last year’s forecast of $431m but an improvement on the $511m predicted at December’s mid-year budget review. </span> <p>$152.5m was allocated in the budget to electrify the Gawler rail line from Adelaide to Salisbury.</p><div>The government said it would maintain its commitment to the electrification of the Gawler line, however, funding has been “re-profiled” to enable works to recommence in 2017-18.
