SI-NRW hands out $800k in prefab concrete work

A Perth prefabricated concrete construction firm has been awarded roughly $800,000 in scope extensions by the joint venture building the Forrestfield-Airport Link Project.

Precast’s parent company, WestStar Industrial, announced the news to the ASX on November 14.

Under the scope extensions, Precast Australia will supply precast concrete elements for stations and service buildings along the rail line, which will link Forresfield to the Midland Line via Perth Airport.

The contract is with the SI-NRW Joint Venture, the joint venture of Salini Impregilo and NRW delivering the project for the State Government.

WestStar said the new work would specifically be for precast stairs and precast walls for railway stations, and emergency egress shafts.

“Our continued involvement in this major Western Australian infrastructure project is encouraging for the Precast business,” WestStar chief executive Robert Spadanuda said.

“The Forrestfield Airport Rail Link is a substantial project and we are confident that strong delivery will translate into further work.”
