<p>Queensland Transport has short-listed four firms to conduct a feasibility study into a light rail system for the Gold Coast.</p> <p>Transport minister Steve Bredhauer said the four consultancy firms have been invited to prepare detailed proposals.</p> <p>The State Government has provided $650,000 – on a dollar-for-dollar basis with the Federal Government – to undertake an Impact assessment study and financial analysis of the project.</p> <p>The successful consultant is expected to be appointed mid-year and the study completed by December 2003.</p> <br />
