<p>Queensland will spend $27.6bn on transport infrastructure in the next 20 years as part of its South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan, premier Peter Beattie said this morning (Friday, May 26). </p> <p>Released last year, the document had allocated $24.5bn to transport as part of $55bn of spending on infrastructure in the region.</p> <p>Mr Beattie said a revision of the document this year would increase overall funding by 20%, including an extra $3.1bn for transport. </p> <p>“Transport infrastructure has increased from $24.5 billion to $27.6 billion, while transport investigations rise from $72 million to $90 million, equating to an overall increase of around 13% in transport investment over the past 12 months,” he said.</p> <p>The revised plan also includes almost $28bn on road and public transport.</p> <p>The government has identified 350 infrastructure projects that will need funding before 2025. </p> <br />
