SCT secures NSW sugar cane contract

<p>SCT Logistics has secured the sugar cane haulage contract with the New South Wales Sugar Milling Co-Operative for the next 10 years. </p> <p>The contract will start when the 2005 cane harvest season begins in the Northern Rivers Region of Northern NSW, and runs until December each year.</p> <p>The NSW Sugar Milling Co-operative has three mills at Condong, Broadwater and Harwood. </p> <p>On average there will be 2.5m tonnes of cane harvested each season between the three mills and SCT has dedicated 33 prime movers to perform this demanding task.</p> <p>Geoff Smith, the chief executive of SCT Logistics, said the contract definitely underpinned the company’s diversification strategy and was the perfect fit for its long-term growth plans.</p> <br />
