<p>The prospect of Toll or Asciano taking over Brambles was a “shocking thing” for federal treasurer Peter Costello and Australian Competition and Consumer Commission chairman Graeme Samuel, South Australian transport and logistics magnate Allan Scott told <em>Lloyd’s List DCN</em> today (Friday, August 10). </p> <p>Mr Scott pulled no punches about Australia’s regulatory landscape, saying such a move should never happen, just as approval of Toll’s takeover of Patrick should never have been allowed to occur.</p> <p>He said he had taken his concerns about the Patrick takeover to Mr Costello and Mr Samuel at the time.</p> <p>“I just believe there should be a level playing field for everybody,” Mr Scott said.</p> <br />
