Santa spreads festive cheer for Queensland Rail

Santa Claus is coming to town and he’s using the Queensland Rail network to spread the festive joy far and wide.

Customers are invited to jump onboard the Santa Express for a magical journey with the man in the red suit and his elves, from December 11-15.

The Salvation Army band will also be bringing Christmas cheer to Central Station with Christmas carols being played during those dates  from 7-8.30am daily.

Queensland Rail Head of South East Queensland Scott Riedel said the Santa Express had been running for more than a decade and it’s a much anticipated tradition for many customers.

“The Santa Express will operate on a different line each day stopping at a number of stations,” he said.

“To stay on the nice list, make sure you tap on and off with a valid go card, or use a credit/debit card or device at our smart ticketing enabled lines, as normal fares apply.

“Those who aren’t able to experience the merriment and festivities on board should visit their local station when Santa is scheduled to disembark – here they can give him their Christmas wish list in person.”
