RTBU calls for Sydney fares to be turned ?upside-down?

<span class="" id="parent-fieldname-description"> The Rail, Tram and Bus Union (RTBU) is calling for a radical overhaul of Sydney’s public transport fares structure to make transport more affordable for people in low-income areas including Western Sydney, the Illawarra and Newcastle. </span> <p>&nbspRTBU national secretary Bob Nanva released a research paper last week into a unique fare structure, which would effectively turn the existing distance-based model upside-down – making it travel cheaper into the city, and more expensive in the inner city.</p><div>&nbsp
