Australia and New Zealand’s premier rail safety event is back.

The 25th RISSB Rail Safety Conference returns to Sydney this May, bringing together top minds from across the rail sector for two powerful days of insights, collaboration, and future-focused conversations.

Taking place on 13–14 May 2025 at Swissotel Sydney, the conference arrives at a critical moment, where ongoing reform and evolving technology are reshaping how the industry approaches safety, interoperability, and innovation.

This year’s conference proudly welcomes RISSB’s new CEO, Alan Fedda, who will deliver his first official industry address. With over 15 years of leadership experience across transport, energy, and telecommunications, Alan is poised to lead RISSB with a focus on:

• Driving rail interoperability
• Enhancing productivity
• Reinforcing safety during a time of sector-wide change
Attendees will have a unique opportunity to hear his vision for the future and understand how RISSB plans to support the industry in facing complex regulatory and operational challenges.
