<p>Downer EDI is disposing of its George Gilbert Motor Rewinds business with workshops in Brisbane, Mackay and Rockdale. </p> <p>Revenue of George Gilbert Motor Rewinds in 2002 was $9m. Under the terms of the agreement Downer EDI will realise a net cash consideration of over $3m. </p> <p>Downer EDI managing director Stephen Gillies said the sale was a continuation of the process to dispose of non-core businesses that cannot be leveraged to the full service model of the company.</p> <p>“The sale will have no adverse impact on Downer EDI’s business. Downer EDI continues its traction motor rewind business for the rail industry through its Rail Division (EDI Rail) which has facilities in Bathurst and across Australia,” Mr Gillies said.</p> <br />
