<p>Pacific National was braced for short-term loss of east-west rail service and return service business due to the Mount Christie derailment on the Nullabor, a spokeswoman for parent firm Asciano said today.</p> <p>She said customers would wait until the line was repaired or source road transport.</p> <p>"If we don’t move it, we don’t get paid," she said.</p> <p>"We are working with customers to try to minimise the impact on them.</p> <p>"Some will use road and others will reschedule."</p> <p>With nine freight trains using the line normally each day, the closing of the line will mean a banking up of west- and east-bound freight.</p> <p>Other rail operators said yesterday that they were working with customers to cope with the situation.</p> <p>The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) said the line between Port Augusta and Kalgoorlie would be closed to rail traffic until repairs to the damage from the derailment on Monday night were completed on Saturday.</p> <p>Equipment reached the remote site yesterday morning and work began on clearing the debris and repairing the link.</p> <br />
