<p>Victoria’s new V/Line trains have reached their intended 160km/h top speeds during safety test runs, the Victorian Government said.</p> <p>The 38 trains are being progressively delivered for Victoria’s regional fast rail project.</p> <p>Remaining work on the fast rail project includes track upgrade and the installation of a new signalling system.</p> <p>"Following the completion of train testing, drivers, conductors and operational staff will undergo an intensive training program before we progressively introduce the new trains," transport minister Peter Batchelor said.</p> <br />
