Queensland trumpets green credentials

<p>Queensland Rail has demonstrated its commitment to a cleaner environment by winning the Australian Greenhouse Office’s Challenge Award, state transport minister Steve Bredhauer said.</p> <p>The government-owned corporation won the award for its reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, Mr Bredhauer said.</p> <p>QR has successfully abated 329,000 tonnes of CO2 equivalent gas over the past three years &#8211 a result that was 15% better than QR’s original forecast.</p> <p>QR chief executive Bob Scheuber said: "This award is also recognition of the benefits rail can deliver over its land transport competition."</p> <br />
