Queensland Rail is back on track in the wake of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
Trains are running to a full timetable from today, Wednesday March 12, with the exception of the Ipswich to Rosewood line, where rail replacement buses will be operating.
A statement from Queensland Rail said: “Huge thanks to the Queensland Rail crews who have spent the last few days on our network repairing damage so we can keep you all moving following ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
“We appreciate your patience as our teams worked to restore services safely.”
Crews inspected and repaired 152 stations, 850km of track, and over 900km of high-voltage overhead lines and signalling following the cyclone.
Significant damage was caused to parts of the network by the severe weather, particularly on the Gold Coast and Cleveland lines.
Images shared by Queensland Rail and the office of Logan City Council Mayor Jon Raven showed storm damage and flooding at several locations.
