<p>QR’s freight business has rebranded itself QRNational as part of its drive for rail haulage outside of Queensland.</p> <p>QR’s chief executive Bob Scheuber said the renaming underscored the organisation’s ambition to secure a greater share of the national freight market "while continuing to meet the needs of existing customers" in Queensland and elsewhere.</p> <p>Expanded national freight operations will give its existing customers access to new markets, he said.</p> <p>QRNational operates more than 450 container services a year on the Brisbane-Melbourne route.</p> <p>The new name only applies to QR’s freight business – coal, bulk and containerised freight – and not the passenger operations or other divisions in the QR fold.</p> <br />
