Probe into derailment of empty train

<p>The Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) will investigate the cause of an accident involving a Pacific National freight train about 100 km northwest of Dubbo in New South Wales.</p> <p>The rail line between Nevertire and Nyngan was closed after 13 wagons and a locomotive derailed on Sunday (October 1), damaging about 300 metres of track.</p> <p>Pacific National said its train was travelling well below the speed limit on the section of track, which has now been re-opened.</p> <p>The train, which normally transports bulk concentrate, was empty.</p> <p>Pacific National, and the NSW Office of Transport Safety Investigation are also investigating. </p> <br />
