<p>Freight Australia launched Victoria’s first new rail freight locomotive in over 13 years last week.</p> <p>The V Class <em>Tim Fischer</em> was built at EDI’s Newcastle workshop and will be the most powerful locomotive operating in Victoria.</p> <p>Former deputy prime minister Tim Fischer and state transport minister Peter Batchelor attended the launch. </p> <p>The locomotive was named after Mr Fischer in recognition of his support for the Australian rail industry.</p> <br />
