<p>Engineering firm GH Varley has completed the installation of air operated lids on 315 Pacific National grain wagons.</p> <p>The lids will increase load and unload speeds on the wagon and represent enormous safety improvements for staff operating the wagons, Pacific National said.</p> <p>Previously employees had to climb on top of the wagons to open and close the lids but they can now control the lids from a switch at ground level, the rail operator said.</p> <p>The rail operator has awarded GH Varley the contract to upgrade a further 273 grain wagons. </p> <br />
