<p>Pacific National does not expect delays caused by bushfires this week to have any significant flow-on effects to its freight services north of Sydney.</p> <p>Three of the rail operator’s services were delayed by about six to seven hours on Monday (January 22) after a bushfire closed the main rail line between Sydney and the Central Coast of New South Wales.</p> <p>The two main roads – the F3 freeway and the Old Pacific Highway – were also closed as fire crews battled the blaze which affected up to 370 ha of land near Berowra, about 15 km north of Sydney.</p> <p>A spokeswoman for Pacific National said that one Melbourne-Brisbane train had been stuck in Sydney for six hours, while another train heading to Brisbane from Adelaide had been delayed by about seven and a half hours.</p> <p>A third service, southbound from Brisbane to Adelaide, waited north of the blaze at Wyong for seven hours.</p> <p>The spokeswoman said the delays would have a “knock-on effect” but that any problems would not be too significant.</p> <br />
