Planning consultation is now underway as part of work to deliver the Sunshine Superhub in Melbourne.
Major changes are planned in and around Sunshine Station to enable a rail line to Melbourne Airport and pave the way for electrification to Melton.
A program of works across more than six kilometres from West Footscray to Albion will include two new dedicated regional platforms and an extended concourse at Sunshine Station, three new rail bridges, new and upgraded tracks, new signalling technology, and realigned passenger and freight lines.
The Victorian Government is now seeking community input on a range of planning matters, including project boundaries, environmental management, heritage impacts, tree and vegetation removal, amenity, traffic and access, and construction impacts.
Consultation is open until Sunday 27 July. To make a submission, visit Engage Victoria.
There will be further opportunities to have your say as the project progresses, including the chance to provide feedback on concept designs later this year.
Separate planning consultation for the new Albion Station will take place in 2026.
