<p>Hunter Valley Coal Chain Logistics Team (HVCCLT) general manager Anthony Pitt has had his contract extended for another two years.</p> <p>Mr Pitt has been at the helm of the logistics team since it began in 2003 as a way of coordinating coal movements through the port of Newcastle and became an outstanding success.</p> <p>Originally a trial between Pacific National and the coal terminal operator, Port Waratah Coal Services (PWCS), the logistics team expanded to include all of the major parties including the coal companies, above and below rail operators and the Newcastle Port Corporation.</p> <p>The Hunter’s coal network capacity increased from 70m tonnes to 81m tonnes, without any upgrades to infrastructure.</p> <p>Port and rail upgrades will boost capacity to 102m tonnes next year.</p> <br />
