<p>The unsuccessful bidder for Patrick’s Tasmanian shipping and forwarding assets is challenging the process in the Victorian Supreme Court.</p> <p>Bridport-based Southern Shipping is taking the action against the successful consortium, led by Tasmanian businessmen Chas Kelly.</p> <p>The legal move came as it emerged that ANL believed it had secured the business up until recently, with managing director John Lines and Toll Holdings chief Paul Little reportedly having shaken hands on the deal on December 22.</p> <p>Patrick parent Toll said last week it would sell the businesses to Mr Kelly, reportedly for a sum believed to be less than $50m.</p> <p>Toll was forced to sell the assets under its undertakings to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in the takeover of Patrick.</p> <p>The ACCC will have to approve the asset sale.</p> <br />
