<p>Interstate rail operator Pacific National has added extra weekly train services for intermodal customers in the run-up to the Christmas peak season, with one new service between Melbourne and Brisbane, two between Melbourne-Perth and one on the Sydney-Perth corridor.</p> <p>The move will increase the number of weekly Melbourne-Brisbane services to 11, plus two trains which run on to Cairns.</p> <p>Melbourne-Perth will now have a total of 14 trains, while Sydey-Perth will see 11 four-day services plus two three-day Sprinter express intermodal services.</p> <p>Pacific National also said it is offering financial incentives to customers which pick up freight on Sundays in a move designed to encourage freight forwarders to spread their transport workload over seven days, rather than the normal Monday-Friday.</p> <br />
