<span class="" id="parent-fieldname-description"> The federal Opposition will introduce legislation to Parliament next week to start preserving the 1748km rail corridor for Australiaâs proposed east coast high-speed rail network. </span> <p>By Jennifer Perry</p><p>Shadow minister for transport Anthony Albanese announced his plan at last week’s AusRAIL PLUS conference.</p><div>The Private Members Bill will also create a special authority to oversee planning for the project. Prime Mininster Tony Abbott recently closed the High Speed Rail Advisory Group which Albanese created while in government.
