<p>Kent Donaldson took up the position of New South Wales rail safety regulator yesterday (Monday, May 6).</p> <p>Mr Donaldson was general manager of operations and safety for the Australian Rail Track Corporation.</p> <p>The NSW rail safety regulator is responsible for auditing, inspecting and accrediting the state’s rail organisations.</p> <p>This is in line with a recommendation from Justice McInerney’s report after the 1999 Glenbrook train accident.</p> <br />
